This month, A LA CARTE became part of Kay Cassidy’s Great Scavenger Hunt Contest. Participants in libraries around the country can check out any of the books on Kay’s list, answer questions, and win a chance for free books by other participating authors, and other goodies which Kate has on offer. It’s her way of giving back to public libraries, and it’s really fun. Every month, people are winning $50 gift certificates to bookstores! Librarians can register here to be sure their readers can take part!
readergirlz has been celebrating art all month long, and the way in which it enriches our lives and binds up our sanity — and today I got to participate! If you haven’t yet had a chance to enjoy the Art Saves phenomena this month, DO go and see art concepts by artists and writers such as Beth Kephart, Crissa-Jean Chappell, Tom Sniegoski, and others.

I love your entry, your "random sampling of some…artsy junk." Perfect.
I really need to find a hobby that gets my hands busy and frees my mind up to think, as you mentioned. I really don't have that in my life. I've considered knitting, complicated puzzles (yes, I've considered this lately, since my girls have been making simple puzzles), etc. Anyway, your entry is fabulous. Hardly "junk" at all.
And go, Kay!
Thank you so much for sharing your crafts and photos! 🙂
