Is this not a cool shot? Taken last weekend on the isle of Mull… just a sunken boat. But gorgeous water.
I have only ever gotten two wisdom teeth. And Thursday, the last of them will be pulled.
So much for wisdom.
Suffice it to say, I will be down for the count for a bit, so I’m frantically doing a whole lot of stuff like ironing and housecleaning — oh, wait. I’m lying, but didn’t that sound good for a second? I’m frantically trying to get a few chapters written (my real life’s priorities — sadly for the housekeeping) before I feel like my head is going to explode, my face is puffy, and I’m curled up moaning. Yes, I expect the worst. I’m in the UK, my dentist is a wee little man, and I have really monster strong teeth. Think horse teeth. I’m afraid the thirty minutes my dentist has blocked out to do this is going to be a big joke. *shudder*
Think of me whilst you eat ice, ice cream, and other non-temperature controlled foods.
Meanwhile, I’m a third of the way through a new novel, and last night my writing group complimented me that it’s a novel about “the ineffable in all of us.” How cool is that? I’m writing about things too awesome to be put into words.
This could explain why it’s taking so long.

Hope you're recovering despite being down a few teeth. 🙂 I've never had teeth pulled, but I did have all 4 wisdom teeth out via oral surgery when I was around 18 and found out the hard way (the stomach-hurting-something-awful way) that I was allergic to the antibiotic they gave me. Boo.
I love the photo, too. Nice complementary color scheme!
Don't underestimate us wee folks. Some of us can be quite strong. 🙂
Tasty broths. Smoothies with summer berries. And yes, vidocan. Or maybe panadeine.
That is one cool photo. Could be some kind of artsy book cover.

And oddly enough, the word verification is "picyap"; and I'm yapping about a pic. Eerie!
Lucky for you they sell Vicodin over-the-counter, huh? Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I had all four of my wisdom teeth out at once back in the day. The best thing about that is that it's done.
And I encourage this writing instead of housecleaning, especially ironing. I mean, the clothes just get wrinkled again. No sense in it.
I'm so proud to know someone writing about ineffable things. Sigh.
I,too, shuddered at your wisdom tooth adventure that's coming up on Thursday. I still have 4 wisdom teeth! My mouth is very crowded. Every time the dental hygienist and the dentist look in my mouth, they say, "Wow. That's a LOT of teeth." Yes, I say, but there's stadium seating. 😀
I imagine your wee little dentist man will be challenged to the fullest (good for his career). I like how you lied about housecleaning and ironing — it did sound good!
Good luck on Thursday . ..
First: The novel sounds great. And "ineffable" is one of my favorite words.
Second: Good luck. I shivered as I read. I have a dream about every night that my teeth are falling out, and I abhore the dentist's office. No deep symbolism there in my dreams either; just afraid my teeth will fall out. I had a nightmare the other night that my five-year-old's first tooth came out. It's about time for one of those suckers to get wobbly, and she'll HAVE to go to her father.
Good luck good luck good luck.
I love the sunken boat pic 🙂
I'm sure Thursday will go smoothly (only 30 minutes blocked! the wee dentist knows this job will be a piece of cake!) but I do remember some lying down on the couch time after having my wisdom teeth out so it's good you're getting lots of writing done now.
I'll send speedy recovery vibes to you on Thursday.
Woohoo, the new book sounds fantastic!
