My friend Jo sent me some thought-inspiring intentions and resolutions for the creative mind. I give you fair warning – this is language-y, but read between the grawlixes; some good stuff here.

And let us not forget, “I wonder if my follow-up book will ever be as good as the one that simultaneously won the Newbery/Printz/Caldecott!” Seriously, though, my mom remembers reading about how receiving the Newbery could be the “kiss of death” for an author. She paused, then snickered and said, “Oh, kiss me, Death!”
