Happy Wednesday.
I’m still… reverberating from Keith Boynton’s beautiful poem, Patria, which we are now accepting as a last-minute addition to Mary Lee’s July 4 Poetry Roundup. I wrote this poem after reading his and sitting with it in the garden for a bit.
…I’m not sure it’s finished, but here. Happy Poetry Wednesday.

I agree with Tricia (even though I would have used the more pedestrian “last two lines)! Oof.
What a deconstruction of the word welcome. There is no “I,” just “we” and “me” and “come.” Ending the word with “me” is indeed a call to action.
In the mean time, bring on the tornados…
That envoi! I so loved Boynton’s poem, and this is a terrific response. Both poems are a bit of a gut punch. I’m going to keep looking for those Monarchs.
