I love the look of naturally dyed eggs but I’ve never taken the time to do it myself.
I love the way you’ve tied the onionskin pages to a springtime story. Lovely.
@divatobe: They’re boiled in the usual vinegar like you would dyed eggs, but with the application of foil and onion skin. The mottled browns are lovely and if you tuck a piece of red cabbage in there, or other things like tea bags or coneflowers you can get some amazingly organic looking shades. Just for fun – imparts no flavor.

I’ve never tried to color eggs with natural dyes before. Pretty cool!
@jama-j: It’s fun, if you have a lot of energy. I bought beets this year SPECIFICALLY for roasting and using the scraps to make pink eggs. ☺
Okay, I’ll bite. (heh) Why the onion skin~is it for flavor or colour? Are these baked eggs?

I’ll have to try that next year. Or some random August Sunday.
