We ate peanuts, cheered, and teared up a bit in our little house, far away from the Red Planet. Nerd Alert, yeah. But it was as joyous to us as gold medals for those who cheer and cry for the Olympians, and to me, means so much more.

This was an exciting thing. I’m like a little kid about the space program. And did you see this quote from one of the engineers, Adam Steltzner: “We are rationally confident, emotionally terrified, and ready for EDL.”?
I do believe I got through a fair amount of life feeling rationally confident and emotionally terrified.
I loved that. Rationally confident, emotionally terrified. I need that on a t-shirt.
