  1. In 3rd grade, I was the proud owner of a neon yellow girls bicycle that sported a glittered neon-green padded banana seat. It was so sweet! There was nothing better than coasting down the hills of Angwin, hands on the cruiser handlebars complete with tassels flying in the wind. Sigh. Those were the days! ~k

    1. I enjoy all modes of transportation, although I’ve never tried traveling via lacquered sedan chair and think Jama’s idea has merit.

Be safe, Tanita, whichever way you’re traveling.

  2. Jama and Tanita, I know people who love driving. They love driving, love cars… and I just have to remember that it takes all kinds, and I’m the kind who would rather walk or take a train. T, I wish you strength and focus as you drive for the first time in five years.

    1. Yes, it does take all kinds. I love the train – love it, love it, love it. I don’t even care what kind of car we have, which just tells you how far I’ve gone from the American love affair with the automobile…

  3. 😀 😀 😀

Have to admit that when I first read the title of this post, my first thought was, “Heaven help us!” Then when I read the yellow sign I was all, yes yes so so true!

The feeling of metal tubes going too fast only gets worse the older you get I’m afraid. I dislike driving more and more. Rather than have to pedal a bike, banana seat or no, I’d rather have a magic carpet, or maybe have two sturdy youths carry me in a lacquered sedan chair. Good luck!
