Oops! December 15th the Modesto Stanislaus Poetry Center’s New Year’s Challenge began, with the first prompt the night of the 14th! I’m starting late, but there’s still time – if you’d like to jump in and join this fun and challenging “poetry maelstrom,” email host Gary Thomas at info@mostpoetry.org. You will receive a prompt a day for 30 days, and toward the end of the 30 days, they’ll put out a call for any poem you’d like to share in an NYPC chapbook.
Good luck!
Hi Tanita, I’m in again this year too. I’m using the prompts pretty loosely. I wrote one poem in response to prompts 5 and 6. I figure whatever works for me. : )
lsteinglass: My use of the prompts is so loose this year that I feel like I ought not even post that I’m part of the challenge! Oh, well – I’m trying to take it easy on expectations for the rest of the month! Happy Winter Holidays!
